gracey could hardly begin to contain her excitement at the thought of what would be happening tonight. though she had been outside of the walls of whiterun before, not once did she ever do so without her father's permission and constant watch. the young blacksmith knew that her father's intentions were good, but it was still frustrating when she was a grown woman still under the protection of her father. luckily, she had a few friends who understood her wonder and curiosity. one of those friends was runar war-anvil; a fellow blacksmith and a tremendous friend. the type of friend that she knew she would have for the rest of her life - if she were so lucky. he had been the one who was now going to attempt to sneak her out of her home and out of the walls of whiterun. with the war drawing nearer, the ravenmane had no idea whether or not they would even be able to go out, but it was worth a try. at least, in gracey's eyes.
wide awake, she sat in her bed trying to not get too excited about the whole thing. runar had warned her not to fall asleep and, even if she wasn't supposed to, it wasn't like it mattered much. the raven-haired nord was far too excited for sleep, too excited to rest her head against the pillow. instead, she creot around her room, getting everything ready for when her dear friend showed up to take her outside of the walls of safety, outside of the walls of whiterun. pulling on her fur boots and her hood over her head, she took a seat back on her bed; she had no idea when runar was supposed to arrive, or if he was even going to at all. but gracey had a feeling that he wouldn't let her down, he never let her down.
climbing to her feet, she started pacing around the room - her father slept like a rock in the other room, not waking up for anyone or anything. hell, a dragon could attack whiterun and he would sleep right through it. that was one advantage that gracey had when to came down to tonight. it didn't matter how sneaky she was, the man she called father would not be waking up tonight. she would be able to sneak out, explore and be back in time for breakfast. luckily for her, she had planned it so that this little expedition landed on a day in which she had off from work. so she wouldn't be endangering herself by being too tired to work the forge. she would be able to sleep in and enjoy her bed for the whole day, if she wished. obviously, her father would more than likely get her out of bed, but gracey wouldn't even care. she would have had the time of her life the nigh before.
growing impatient, she walked towards her window and opened it, looking out for any sign of runar. being the the second floor of her home, it was obvious that she should be the one looking out for him. finally, once she had spotted the familiar man, she grabbed a gold coin and chucked it out of the window. her aim wasn't usually all that accurate, but when she saw it manage to hit the fellow blacksmith in the head, she couldn't help but giggle before she closed the window and headed downstairs. obviously, she kept her steps quiet and tip toed before she opened the door and stepped outside, waiting for runar to meet her before they would both head out towards the western watchtower.
