Too much of my day is spent planning new ways to torture Taros, and this is my newest one!
I don’t have a name picked out for her, both Layla and Taros have only referred to her as mother, so that’s what we are going to call her. Soooo much of Mom’s history is up to you. Who is Layla’s father? She doesn’t know. Mom never said anything to Layla about her origins, so Layla has always assumed that her father was a high elf and that he’s dead, but if he isn’t or you have an awesome idea for who he is, just you know... make it so. Also, I’ve never specified Layla’s previous surname, or if she even had one, so literally everything about this character before Layla’s birth is up to you and quite a bit after.
Mom was pretty young when she had Layla, but was already at the college at that point. They never had a home that was not the college. Layla only says that her mother became a senior mage, not in what. Both Layla and Mom are highly skilled mages. All her mother ever wanted was for her daughter to grow up and stay in the college eventually taking a teaching position there. When Layla left the college to travel it was difficult for her mother to accept, and even worse when Layla decided that Witchhunting seems like a good plan. Then she married a dark elf with little to no magical talent. Whenever layla visits her mother, she always mentions how Layla could come back and take a job there or she could move to Winterhold, and seems especially pleased when Layla mentions that Taros would hate it there.
I have no preference for face claim. I use Lana Del Rey for Layla so someone who looks vaguely like they might be related to her would be nice. Plot wise she is open to do whatever the eff you want her to, but I would like for Layla and Taros to have a real person playing this woman they keep complaining about. And Layla really needs her mother now that she’s lost her baby and is considering a massive killing spree across Skyrim... and from Taros’s perspective Monster-in-Law is such a fun phrase....
