I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly Elmira wasn’t sure if she should be cursing Cyrus at this point, but she felt like she should be. After she had stabled Esper outside of Riften, she had made her way into the city with her wolf ever present at her heels. And yet, once she had gotten into the city, she had stopped in the street, unsure now that she really should have come. She hated having to be in large groups of people, preferring the wilderness to the life that a city offered. But there were times that she had to do it, and she figured that this was one of those times. In her saddlebags was some dragon scales and a dragon bone that she had gotten appraised in Solitude and was holding onto for whenever she actually found a member of the Blades as proof of her prowess. Amazing wasn’t it? How a woman could fell a dragon – with the help of another of course – and yet be terrified at such a large crowd of people.
But that was the way things went. Bolstering up her courage, Elmira strode through the city, attempting to ignore the other citizens while she made her way toward the Inn and bar. That was where Cyrus had suggested she go to learn about the Blades. From her time in Solitude with the help of a Nord mage, helpful in his ways if brash as well, she had learned much about the supposed faction. They had been persecuted for many years from the Thalmor and Empire, and seemed to have practically ceased to exist. It had given her the history of the faction, which was helpful to her in her quest to find them. Now though, she was at a standstill. If there were some members of the Blades left, they were very good at hiding. So that meant that Elmira couldn’t just wait around for them to come to her, but would have to search even more thoroughly for them. That meant that perhaps Cyrus had the best advice; that of asking around at Inn’s.
It didn’t take her long to get to the Bee and Barb. Pushing the doors open, Elmira quickly walked in, skirting a few people while she made her way to a table. She sat down easily there, blue eyes glancing around even as she took in everything about the place. There was a few different people resting on tables around her, along with the exits that were possible. It didn’t take long for the Argonian female to come over and talk to her. Elmira ordered some mead, but before she left, she caught the arm of the Argonian. “Have you heard of a faction called the Blades?” She had kept her voice controlled, but Elmira’s voice had undoubtedly spread slightly. The answer wasn’t satisfactory, and instead seemed to be just a way to get out of the question, and a “I wouldn’t be asking that question if I were you.” Elmira sighed even as the Argonian female walked away, before she rested her bow on the table and leaned there on her elbows, glancing down at the table. She wasn’t sure why she had been given that response, but it made her curious. Why shouldn’t she be asking that question?

[/div] tagged: open words: [/color] 541[/color][/div] it seemed as though mjoll was starting to feel more and more restless, her adventuring blood showing it's prominence. if she hadn't made the promise to aerin to help clean up riften, she would have been gone a long time ago, on the other side of tamriel, she hoped. but it didn't seem like she would be doing such things for a long while and that slightly disappointed the lioness. staying in one place for this long was unbelievably unlike her and by no means was she settling. it was odd to actually get to know people in a city, usually she would meet people who also liked to adventure and they would become companions for a while, but eventually the person she was travelling with would head back to the place they called home. mjoll had no home - it didn't exist anymore. burned down by bandits and murderers who had taken, not only her home, but her family as well. everything she had ever loved was burned to the ground, so it was no wonder that the young woman became an adventurer. it was the perfect distraction from the anger and the pain that was dwelling inside of her - a pain that she never really dealt with.
walking into the bee and the barb, a place she was quickly starting to realize was more of a home than she had in a very, very long time. she scanned around the area, seeing a few familiar faces that were both friendly and unsettling. the thieves guild liked to meet here sometimes, when they had some sort of urge to live like normal people. it frustrated her knowing that they were right under her nose and yet she was unable to do anything about it. deep down, she was starting to feel as though there would never be an end of the thieves guild; but mjoll was never a quitter. she would never give up on something, if there was even the slightest bit of hope of succeeding. though, as much as she wished to fix up riften and have it free of the tyrany of the thieves guild, it would only be so long before she would leave. if not because she giving up, but because her lack of freedom would cause her to come completely insane.
just as those thoughts started to run through her head, she heard a voice asking about a guild that she had been thinking about recently. not being the thieves guild, it was the blades - a noble band of dragon hunters who once were great warriors. mjoll had thought of them as nothing but legend, though she had always prayed that they were still around. eyebrows lifting, the lioness stood and walked towards the fellow blond who looked as though she was the same build as mjoll. if no one knew better, the two could look as if they were sisters, "did you mention the blades?" mjoll inquired, she knew that one would warn her about such things. being the most intimidating woman in riften - aside from maven black-briar - no one really questioned her or bothered to warn her about what had run from her mouth, "come this way, we can talk." notes: UGH, it;s so bad, but it's doneeee [/td][/tr][/table][/center]

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly Left to her own thoughts, Elmira settled back in the chair and thought about what the woman had said about not getting involved in something like that. Why? Was it because of the oppression that the Blades faced years before by the hand of the Thalmor? Elmira instantly bristled. The Thalmor…needed to be taken down a notch. Despite thinking that Ulfric was going about this war in the wrong way, Elmira did hope that he could destroy the Thalmor’s rule on Skyrim. Her homeland deserved to be free from the oppression. So was it that? The Thalmor didn’t have any hold on this part of Skyrim though, so what was there really to be afraid of? With furrowed eyebrows Elmira stared into her tankard and tried to think. Was there something else she should know about the Blades that she didn’t? The thought was unsettling, even making her shift in her seat and glance to the side. Instantly she chided herself. What did she expect, for the boogyman to jump out and get her?
At that exact moment a voice startled her. Eyes flickered up and to the left, catching sight of the lithe woman standing there looking at her with expectant eyes. Someone that knew something about the Blades? A Blade herself? Excitement grew in the pit of her stomach. Since the dragons had emerged, Elmira had been trying to find the Blades so that she could fight for Skyrim in the one way she knew how. After she had killed a dragon herself – along with the help of a brave Khajiit and a dead giant along with his mammoths. “Do you know anything about them?”, she eagerly pressed. Was this finally happening? Was she going to be able to find out something about the faction that was thought to have gone extinct years before?
Except that the woman seemed to think that they couldn’t talk here. "alright." With a furrowed eyebrow, Elmira nodded and stood up to follow the woman. Leaving her tankard behind, Elmira wondered at this woman. Why was there so much secrecy surrounding the Blades? Why had the barkeeper warned her about not getting into something she really didn’t want to be involved in? It all didn’t make sense. But…something made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. Once she was standing, the blonde just nodded to show the other woman that she should lead the way and Elmira would follow.
What did this woman know about the Blades? I'll do what it takes, 'till I touch the sky Words; 532 Outfit; Leather armor Tagged Mjoll Notes; I completely forgot about this thread ;-; I'm sorry ELLE LIKE COOL of ESM |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5,true][atrb=style, background-color: #d48d4d; width: 450px; padding: 5px, bTable][cs=3] YOU WILL ACCEPT THE BLADE | [atrb=style, width: 145px;][atrb=valign,top]ELMIRA/ TAIYA THREE SIX NINE THIS IS SO SHORT, UGH! | [atrb=style, width: 265px;][atrb=valign,top]the young lioness was no stranger to the idea of the blades; she thoroughly enjoyed the tales of the dragon hunters and, now that dragons seemed to be rising again, it was almost as if her dreams were a possibility. she knew little about the blades or how to find them, but that in no way stopped her from attempting to find more out. of course, her attempts weren't exactly the most successful, especially since she had the whole thieves problem in the city of riften to worry about. at times she wished she had never made that promise to aerin, but at the same time, she had made a magnificent friend in the process.
lifting her tankard to her lips, she took a swig and pounded it down onto the table, looking around the bar before she rose to her feet and started to head in the direction of a corner in the bar that was safe enough to speak. though there were no thalmor in riften, there were always spies that always were on alert. someone of whom you thought your friend could easily turn into an enemy, if you say something that they didn't like hearing.
once the girl had caught up to mjoll in the private room, she grabbed the woman by the collar and pushed her up against the wall, "are you a fool!?" she questioned, her voice a hiss as she looked the girl in the eyes, "do you wish to have yourself tortured and executed?!" the lioness' eyes burned with fury and frustration as she let the woman go and took a step back, "you'll have the thalmor ready to bring hell upon this forsaken city, if you keep asking questions like that!" as interested in the blades as mjoll was, she in no way allowed herself to be known of it. no one knew of her secret passion to join the blades, no one except aerin.
as much as mjoll knew she had startled the girl, the nord woman hoped that she had not scared her too badly. the two of them were after the same thing and the lioness was hoping that they could work together in search of what they both seeked. |

It wasn’t as if she had much to lose at this point, and if this woman had any information to give her, she would appreciate it. Still, she couldn’t quite combat that feeling of apprehension she’d had before, so she checked over her shoulder even as she was stepping inside the room. Instead of coming from behind though, the attack came from the front. When her collar was grabbed and she was jerked to the side, Elmira made no noise aside from a soft ‘whoosh’ of breath. Almost as quickly as it happened however, her instincts kicked in and Elmira reached up to break the hold that had taken her captive, though she wasn’t sure if it was because she wrestled out or the woman decided she wanted to let her go.
Furrowing her eyebrows, Elmira straightened her appearance and studied the woman that was in front of her. She looked…rough, like she’d seen quite a bit of hardship in her life. That they would have in common. The comment about torture Elmira only could assume had something to do with her asking about the Blades. The argonian had had the same reaction as this woman, and Elmira herself could remember reading the fate of the Blades when she had been doing her research. Still, she had felt relatively safe in Riften, away from Imperial influence. “If it took that, yes.” Her voice was soft in tone, but equally as even and firm.
Her chin tipped up in defense when the woman continued on. “The Thalmor can rot.” Her voice still didn’t betray any emotion, but Elmira was firm in that thought. “I don’t care if they know that either. Better to die than hide like mice.” Peering over her shoulder, Elmira shifted so that she could see both the woman and the doorway. “Is that all you wanted to tell me? You could have saved your breath, the Argonian already did so herself.” Elmira was just a bit sickened that people were so terrified of the Thalmor. Just like any foe, they could be stopped if they rose up against them. Despite wanting to turn and walk back out of this place and this ‘forsaken city’, Elmira turned her gaze toward the floor instead. “You’re a Nord for Talos-sake, act like it.” Despite having never raised her voice, the blonde hoped that her message had at least gotten through to whoever this woman was. “Do you have anything to tell me about the Blades? Or don’t you?”
