"....And with the movements of the Stormcloaks and the death of the High King, we will need to double the guard in solitude. We need to show the people of Skyrim, we the Imperials can maintain order. Jericho, take care of this on top of you're regular duties." General Tulius ordered. Jericho sat there with his arms crossed, leaning back on the table and listened intently. He took a moment to look around and at the other Legionaries, the thanes, and then to the High Queen, the only person he actually took orders from. He looked back to the general and remained silent to him. "This is an order, Red Guard." General Tulius said with his tone much more stern. The large bear of a man looked towards the High Queen once more and she nodded to him. Jericho looks to the general and spoke to him with a low tone.
"As you command, General. I will take charge of the guards patrol as well."
The General nodded then looked to the queen with slight concern. The meeting was finish but not until the Imperials were done saluting one and other. Jericho stood and bowed to the Queen took off, it was another pointless meeting. If the Imperials were so sure of themselves and military might why not charge Wind helm? It wasn't like Ulfric was hiding from them. All that the blabber he had to deal with, Imperials and Stormcloak, it was like a childish dispute. Imperials just wanted more territory to have more money and man power. Then there were the Stormcloaks with the nordic racism and sense of homeland. It was pure idiocy, at least in his mind, not something to go sprouting around, there was a man who was executed for opening a gate. Being tortured and killed was last on his list.
But if there was anyone that wanted to hear his opinion on who to wage war against it would be the Thalmor. If anyone needed to be taught a lesson it would be those bastards. Jericho shook his head as he walked out of the war room. All this talk of political war was getting to him, or it could be the stress of extra duties, or the lack of a real battle, or it could just be the lack of a love life. Whatever the cause there was a favorite old remedy, drinking at the winking skeever with his friends. It was nightfall, most of his friends should be off duty or work, and maybe his good friend Taros would be back from his travels. Taking of the officer imperial helmet given to him, the warrior entered the tavern.
"JERICHO!'
The voices of his friends called once they saw him enter the door. He cheered out in reply, giving friends hugs and taking in their company with drink in hand. Music played, people danced and drank, as if the world had no problems. "I hear Taros is back in town and should be here soon." said one of the regulars who knew both Jericho and Taros. In the time the regular had finished the sentence, Jericho had already finished his third drink. "The bastard should get here then, or all the mead and ale will be gone and I'll be too drunk to remember anyone you ugly idiots." Jericho said loudly, all at the table laughed and their voices echoed through the halls of the brightly let tavern.

[/div] tagged: jericho words: 477[/div] it had been almost a week since he had been home in solitude and boy was he glad to be back. his wife was coming far along and that meant that their child would be here soon. this frightened and excited taros all at the same time; divines forbid that he miss his first child's birth while he was away. not only that, but seeing as his occupation was killing people, he didn't know if he would live with himself if he knew that, while he was ending one life, another one was beginning. he knew that he was going to be an excellent father and layla an excellent mother, but he never wanted either his new born child or his wife to know what he did to bring home the coin. the traveling merchant facade was a perfect cover up and taros intended to keep it up for the rest of his life. he was madly in love with his wife and she was the perfect image of someone he thought he could never have but craved so badly. a high elf leaving her privileged life to live with a dark elf that was hardly ever even home.
when he had come home, however, his wife was fast asleep and he felt as though it would be rude to wake her up. so, instead, he leaned over, gave her a soft kiss on the cheek and made his way back out onto the streets of solitude. he didn't exactly know where he was going but, before long, one of the guards rushed up to him, giving him a greeting hug before explaining that one of his dearest friends, jericho, was waiting for him at the winking skeever. obviously, taros wasn't going to pass up a chance to catch up with his old friend. he always found himself and jericho's relationship a bit ironic. the redguard was the general to the imperial army, an enforcer of the law. taros worked for the dark brotherhood and, if he played his cards right, their could possibly be a chance to kill someone, possibly the emperor, that could get the whole brotherhood back on the map.
reaching the winking skeever, he burst the doors open with his boot before walking in with a cocky presence, mockingly obviously, "which one of you milk-drinkers is going to buy me a drink?!" he called out to the bar and a lot of the men chuckled. some of them came up and mimicked the guard, giving taros a hug in greeting. when he saw jericho, he walked over to him and gave him a hug and pat in the back before taking a seat, "it's good to see you, old friend." he explained before turning to the bartender, "two pints of black briar!" he stated before turning back to his friend, "how much have i missed?" notes: omg so sorry this is so short... Let the games begin, Jericho and a few of the regulars set up a table just for a game they like to play. It was a simple game, the one who finished their three pints of ale first stays and continues to drink against other competitors. It was a game of King of the hill with the challenge tonight was the Honnibrew mead. Jericho sat at one end of the table and one of the regulars sat the other. People circled around the table and cheer and placed small bets on who would win and how many rounds they would go. Nothing like a contest and minor gambling to spice up the night, he was off duty, did he really need to care about anything besides the drink in front of him....Outside his usually instincts of keeping his guard up to be ready for any type of fight, no he really didn't. This was his night to goof off and possibly regret it in the morning.
1.....2.......3....Go!!!
At the sound of the bard woman saying GO, the two competitors went at it and drank. The crowd roared and cheered as the he and his opponent chugged down their drinks. It was the larger Redguard that took the loss this time over, even though half the crowd grumbled and groaned, it was over lapped by him spitting his ale into another man's face and his laughter when he saw his good friend. "Taros!" Almost like a dragon, Jericho dozed through the crowd and tossed aside others in order for him to greet his friend. Jericho squeezed the dark elf, because it was natural for him with his size, with a man-hug. From how the two friends reacted it was like they haven't seen each other for years. It was rare to see the strong and stern General Jericho in such a manner a side only seen by the closest of friends, as such he had only a selected few. Jericho placed his arm over his friend's shoulder and followed him to a table, where he sat to chat and drink.
"It's has been a week, my friend. Speaking to me like you thought I died! With that said, you looking good for a traveling merchant of Solitude. For a Dark Elf anyway!" He said jokingly with his monstrous laugh and pat on the back, which to most felt like a punch. He took up his drink and took a big swig before speaking again. "Nothing new, just business as usual. I been keeping an eye on the lady of yours for you Taros. How's everything with her and the child? You're going to me Uncle right?"

441[/div] after such a long week of traveling and killing, the last thing he wanted was to stay home; he wanted to be out with his friends, especially since he had a couple of days to be with his wife. after he had barged open the door and saw the competition going on at the bar, he felt somewhat rude, yet accomplished, that he was important enough to have the festivities stop, just for his arrival. after hearing the doors close behind him, a large grin formed on his face as he walked towards the bar and watched the large redguard head towards him. opening his arms, he clamped them around his dear friend, giving him a hefty pat on the back, which could also be as hard as a slap. jericho was one of his closest friends in skyrim, and he kept taros grounded, reminded him of the somewhat normal life he had in solitude. it also made it easier for him to lie to his wife, when he felt so normal.
when the two men pulled away, taros put his hand on his friend's shoulder, and chuckled, "may have only been a week but it feels like a lifetime that i've had a decent drink." he explained and took his hand off the redguard's broad shoulder. he then walked towards the bar, sitting down at a stool before he looked at the barkeep, "two pints of your best mead." he stated before looking at his friend, "we both know you could have easily beaten that scrawny nord with both hands cut off. let's give you a real challenge, shall we?" he inquired before lifting up his pint, "last one to finish has to pay the other man's tab for the rest of the night." he looked around bar before looking at the bard who had started the competition in the first place. being a dark elf, most people would think he wasn't able to hold his drink, but at the same time, most people didn't even believe he was fully a dark elf. taros was much larger built in every way, compared to other dunmer, and he could definitely hold his liquor.
"you had better get your coin purse out, old friend." he threatened before the bard shouted, "go!" taros immediately lifted his pint to his lips, chugging away at the drink that was bitter and strong with ale. it tasted delicious and taros only wanted more, which helped on his end. looking over the side of his glass, he tried to see and compare just how much each of them had left and, by taros' estimation, they were pretty much tied. notes: omg so sorry this is so short...
