A strong Orc, and a worthy addition to the stronghold, Rogdul grew up working to benefit the stronghold. As was custom, he was thrown into combat training when he was very young, learning to wield both one-handed and two-handed weapons, working up to fight with heavy armor. His father was a smith, and Rogdul was taught smithing from a young age as well. He took on a great liking for smithing, and seemed to inherit a knack for the skill. But even so, having a knack could not outweigh his skill when it came to fighting, the subsequent skills of which he had a natural drawing to. A sister was born when he was of the age of 7, and though it took Rogdul sometime to get used to the knew arrival, he soon came to warm to his newest family member and accepted his responsibilities as family protector. His father was becoming old and frail, and Rogdul was only getting stronger. By the time he was of age at 19, the stronghold welcomed him as a warrior and protector of the stronghold, a title he was honored to carry. He spent the next few years as he should have. Protecting the stronghold and his family, aiding his father with smithing jobs and requests, pleasing the chief with his dedication. Rogdul was a good follower. He could see himself in a life outside of the stronghold, for he enjoyed his simple life there. But the peace and simplicity was soon to turn for Rogdul and his family, for when his dearest sister had come of the age nineteen, they were informed that she was to be presented to the Chief of Narzulbur Stronghold in hopes that she should become his next wife. Rogdul was infuriated, and pleaded with his Chief to sever the arrangement, but the union was needed to better benefit the stronghold, and so he was turned away. He along with a few other men escorted his sister to Narzulbur, the frost bitten stronghold. When they arrived a week and more later, they were greeted by the tribe, all out to welcome the Chief's new wife. But the Chief of Narzulbur was a cruel man, and after the cessation of the welcoming ceremony, Rogdul had barely bid his sister goodbye when he witnessed his cruelty against his own blood. Rogdul could not bare it. Rage blinded him and he attacked the Chief of Narzulbur. As strong as Rogdul was, he was naive and quick to temper and so the chief had nearly beat him to within an inch of his life before the other men begged to spare his life. Wounded and ashamed, they returned to Largashbur, but Rogdul alone was greeted with hostility. He had humiliated his chief, disgraced his family and was thenceforth banished from the stronghold and stripped of his family name. He was cast out immediately from the stronghold and bid never to return again. Alone and nameless was Rogdul when the Blackblood Marauders found him. He had attempted murder on one of their bandits in hopes of stealing their gold for food, but was blatantly outnumbered. Instead of killing him, they took him back to the Grove, and there was when he was initiated as a Blackblood Marauder, a bandit. It was that day as well, when he was given a new name, a name to represent the ruthless and fearless way in which to strikes his opponents - Rogdul the Fearsome. |
