alongside her was a woman of whom she had just recently met at the bee and the barb. their introduction may not have been all too sweet, but it soon turned into a respect that could now be labeled as a friendship. both women looking for the blades and both woman more than fit to join them, mjoll welcomed elmira to her side. it had completely slipped by her that aerin was possibly not a fan of such things, but mjoll was all-in-all oblivious to the man's affections, if h had any. all that mjoll knew was that she found aerin to be a trusted friend and ally, nothing more. never did she really have the time for relationships, nor did she really think of them. in her life, at this moment, she was thinking mostly of herself and of what she wanted to do to make herself happy.
as the two women left riften in the direction of windhelm, the woman spoke more of what they wished to find. obviously both women wanted to become a member of the blades, a long forgotten guild that seemed to vanish just as the dragons had. and now, since the dragons had started to reappear, so did the blades. it was only obvious that they would be looking fro recruits - it was highly unlikely to have any 'surviving' members. though, if anyone knew of anything, hopefully the people of windhelm did.
it had only been a few days walk and the lioness was starting to see the faint outline of the city of windhelm. she had been there plenty before and had never really enjoyed the place; possibly because of the grey quarter. as true of a nord as she was, she was in no way racist towards dark elves. that in itself bothered her. she was just about to point the outline of the city out, when a loud and vicious roar echoed throughout the skies. mjoll's head turned towards the sound, but she couldn't see anything that seemed to be the cause of it, "what in the name of talos..." she murmured before she saw it.
"is...is that dragon!?" the nord asked, her tone full of shock and disbelief before she turned her attention to her new found friend. before mjoll could say anything more, she could see the beast headed in the direction of the city, "it's attacking windhelm!" she added before she grabbed her follow nord by the sleeve, "we must help!" she shouted before she started running towards the stone city. |

Elmira hadn’t walked so much in quite some time. Though her horse walked alongside her, because Mjoll didn’t have a horse, Elmira chose to walk as well. It was hard to converse with anyone when you were atop a horse and they on the ground, and it would be harder to keep pace that way as well. The first day it hadn’t been so bad, but now it seemed like they had been walking forever. Elmira was strongly considering either buying Mjoll a horse or suggesting that the other blonde do just that. After all, if they were to go on a journey to join the Blades, Elmira did not want to walk all across Skyrim on foot. “Perhaps at Windhelm we should consider getting you a horse.”, she mentioned while they continued along. Ahead she could see her ice wolf loping along, more than likely smelling everything he possibly could in order to trace scents and assure her safety.
Elmira didn’t need to look at her companion to know that she was still there, but was assured of just that. Though their relationship had started out…rocky, what with Mjoll’s strong personality and Elmira’s inability to back down on certain matters, the time spent with Mjoll – as short as it had been – had taught her respect for the other nord that would be her companion from now on. No, more than respect. Elmira already considered her a friend of sorts, someone she could rely on if she needed some help, and thought that she would give the same back to Mjoll. She did wonder at their getting away from the man that seemed to be constantly hanging around the Nord. Elmira had thought him her husband at first, but that was apparently not the case. Though she didn’t ask questions – and wouldn’t unless the information was volunteered – Elmira was curious about the Aerin that seemed to follow her around in the same manner as her wolf.
She didn’t have the time to speculate on that however, when she was startled by a noise that split the air. Freezing in place, Elmira’s eyes jumped to the sky even as she pressed closer to her nervous mare, who was prancing around. Thoughts went back to the last encounter she’d had with a dragon. And though she had killed it – with the help of a dead giant, his mammoths and a khajiit named Ashira – Elmira could still feel the fear that she had felt back then when she had realized just what it was. Blue eyes skittered around the skies to try and see if she could see anything. “Oh Talos.”, she muttered out. “That’s a dragon!”, she confirmed after Mjoll questioned it. Instantly her eyes flickered from the skies to the city on the horizon.
The whinny of her mare was one of terror. Elmira attempted to calm her dappled mare while she felt the tug on her sleeve that had come from her companion. She agreed with her about what they had to do, but as Mjoll took off running, she swung quickly onto the back of her mare. As soon as she had settled herself into the saddle, Elmira hissed between her teeth and sent Esper after Mjoll. When she’d passed her companion, Elmira reined in her mare to a skidding halt, kicked her own foot out of the stirrup to give Mjoll a better target, and held her hand down. “Climb on, we’ll make faster time!”
{NOTES} Wow...this actually came out really quick XD |

so shed some light on me and hold me up in disbelief TAG: Them people! Words: 889
ONE LAST THING: Cole would like to point out that he can occasionally be useful due to the happenings of this post.
Wait to meet me in Windhelm, she’d said.
Windhelm has so much security from Thalmor that it has to be safe, she’d said.
Of course, Cole couldn’t exactly blame Elmira for failing to anticipate a dragon attack, though he would have killed for the chance to blame someone…preferably the dragon. Too damn bad Cole didn’t know how to kill one. He didn’t even know how to run away from one.
”Move, move!” The fact that he had to tell people to get the Oblivion out of the way while a dragon was beating its wings and spewing fire all over Windhelm would have completely dumbfounded him if the dragon would have let up its assault long enough to give Cole a chance to be dumbfounded. The dumbfounded part of his brain was being put to use at keeping him moving, looking for places that could be used as cover so he wouldn’t end up like the food in the marketplace – precooked.
Hearing the sound of the dragon making that horrible screeching – a shout, if Cole knew his dragon history – Cole slid down and behind a stone street marker with his cloak gathered in around him so it wouldn’t catch fire. He’d already seen two or three people burning alive, and as if he wasn’t aware previously that burning alive was his last choice of ways to die, the sight of them had reassured him of that notion. Glad the fire didn’t come remotely close enough for Cole to need to rely on the skinny pillar for flame protection, he dragged himself back up to his feet and set eyes on the dragon. Okay, it was circling away. That gave Cole a grand total of ten seconds to catch his breath while the guards kept shooting sticks at it uselessly and barking for everyone to get to a safe place. Cole would hate to break it to them, but they were fighting a dragon. The one safe place would be the bottom of the sea.
He took quick stock of his location. Elves…elves everywhere. Dark skin. Screaming in smarmy voices. Oh, so he’d been driven towards this part of the city. Now what was he supposed to do? Trying to put out the flames present in his lungs and thanking the divines that those flames weren’t real, Cole rested his hands on his knees to catch his breath just in time for an Imperial woman to crash into him and nearly send him face-first into Windhelm’s grimy, paved streets. He wasn’t sure if catching himself before he fell was a good thing or not – his ear paid the price when the woman screamed the most shrill, pained sound directly into his ear.
And she proceeded to hit him as if she thought he was the dragon and, at the same time, frantically half-cling to him. ”Use that against the dragon why don’t you!?”, he barked back to her, only to have her cling more strongly to him and squeak out something about the dragon swooping down to eat her and it was going to find her and…gods, why him!? Why him in the middle of this?
Balling up his fists in frustration, Cole wavered in place before bringing a hand up towards the woman and placing it against her chest to cast a spell. ”A deaf dragon could find you!” Immediately the woman’s body went rigid, the screaming stopped, and like a statue she fell forward and into his arms. Cole neatly caught her, immediately starting to pull her back towards a building front, eyes searching for the dragon that could be heard but not seen. ”You’re going to thank me for this later…” Kicking the door open angrily and sliding her inside, Cole placed her behind a counter, thinking he’d done a public service. Besides, the spell would wear off in only a few seconds, giving her time to think about the ramifications of accosting random people in the middle of a dragon attack. Then it was back to the door and outside, so he could figure out where-
Immediately upon his re-emerging outside, an indiscernible yell from a guard outside was cut short by a stream of fire tearing through the street and consuming the man. Both the force of the heat and Cole’s on desire to get away, the only order his mind was giving him, sent him back through the door and onto his back in the floor, where he lay for a few seconds before getting to his feet and deciding that getting out the back way would be his best bet. He scrambled to his feet and passed the woman on the way to the back exit, where he rushed out and around the edge of the building to witness a tip of the dragon’s wing and a few more brave ones launching the arrows that their lives depended on. Instinctually, Cole raised his hand to provide them with a shot of rallying magic.
So what was he doing? Fleeing? Fighting?
That the answer most closely resembled the latter made him wonder if he hadn’t lost his mind just yet. He fetched his crossbow from his belt and crept forward...since darts were clearly a good weapon for a mage against dragon scales. Who knew how to kill this thing and where were they!?
This was Elmira's fault.
and tell me something that i'll believe in

Post by Alarice Frozen-Heart . on Jan 11, 2013 17:57:00 GMT -8
Dragon ATTACK Alarice had come to visit Windhelm for a few business stuff. She had been given a parcel to deliver to an elf that lives in Windhelm. The dunmer who gave her the parcel didn't like Windhelm. She got spat on by a nord and cussed at. She even got threatened, that is the main reason why the dunmer doesn't want to deliver the parcel to her sister. Her sister unfortunately still lives in Windhelm, she works there for the palace, cleaning the toilets. Alarice had been told that she can find her at the New Gnisis cornerclub. Alarice isn't the kind to do things for free, so she was getting paid for this simple job.
Alarice was heading to Windhelm anyways. When she arrived in Windhelm she went first thing to the club. She met up with the dunmer and gave her her parcel. After delivering the parcel Alarice went to visit her aunt. To her surprise she wasn't at home. When she asked a neighbor, the neighbor told her that her aunt went to Morrowind. Alarice was hoping to stay at her aunt's house, but since she isn't at home, Alarice went to the Candlehearth Hall. It was a long travel and she deserved some decent food. She ordered a beef stew and whatever leftover meat the cook had for Aryr her wolf.
She sat alone at a table and ate her stew. She wasn't alone for long, a man sat down at the same table she was sitting at. The nord placed his glass of mead down on the table. He greeted Alarice with a flirtation sentence. Alarice looked up at the guy, as if she was interested in him! She greeted him back politely and continued to eat. The man drank from his glass of mead, he was probably thinking what to say to Alarice. It seems as if he has managed to start a conversation, a very dull one that is, with Alarice. She was only replying with a yes and a no. Poor guy, he doesn't have a chance.
Suddenly a loud screeching sound could be heard. It definitely caught everyone in Candlehearth Hall off guard. The man dropped his glass of mead, even Alarice has to admit that the loud screech caught her off guard. A guard opened the door and yelled DRAGOOOONN!!! He didn't even get a chance to finish saying the word dragon, when people started to scream and run to the rooms to hide. Alarice instinctively got up and reached for her bow. Sometimes it's like she was born with that bow in her hands. She grabbed an arrow and ran out of the building.
The view outside isn't something anyone should see. There were houses on fire and people were burning. Alarice could see guards and civilians running around screaming. Well not all guards. Alarice signaled for Aryr to stay inside the place. She has no idea how to fight a dragon, she knows that they are very strong so it's best for the wolf to stay inside this place. Hopefully this place is safe from the dragon. It felt as if the ground was shaking, but it was the dragon who flew by meters away from the roof of CandleHeart Hall. Alarice looked up, seeing the massive beast fly by to the darker side of Windhelm.
She quickly took action, she quickly ran in the direction the dragon flew to. She had to zig zag trough the running crowd, they were all scared. Some were severely injured. There were already bodies laying down on the ground, most are carbonized. The sight is one to cause nightmare. Alarice has gotten used to seeing dead people, but not carbonized people! She didn't let it get to her, she kept running in the direction where the dragon flew to. She found herself close to where she had been, the New Gnisis cornerclub.
And there it is, the elusive mighty dragon. The guards were shooting arrows at it, some were charging with their battle axes at it. Alarice pulled the string of the bow to it's max then released the arrow. The arrow flew directly to the dragon. She was aiming for it's wing, if it can't fly then it's easier to kill. Though she knows they can still breath fire and that they have extreme sharp teeth. As the arrow was traveling at high speeds towards the dragon's wing, she already had another arrow in her hand and was pulling the bow's string to it's max and releasing it. This dragon is going down!
