ONE LAST THING:
ONE LAST THING:
Jorrvaskr did prove a…cozy place, Tedril could now admit. While he couldn’t quite understand why such a small place would be considered the finest of Nord establishments, Tedril assumed that the Nords found any place where impeccable food was constantly aligned across the top of a table. From all sides of the room, all manner of meats still sat within view, all piping hot and prepared for some Companion or another to appear before them and have their way. Tedril thought it all appetizing, but his business today was something entirely different than food. In all honesty, though his curiosity about the fanfare that accompanied the Companions was a personal curiosity, Tedril found himself among the warriors of Whiterun for reasons that dabbled more in the realm of business. It had come to his attention that the Companions might have been in need of his…expertise regarding matters, but unfortunately the stammering messenger (Tedril wondered who thought to hire a messenger with no speaking skills) hadn’t exactly expressed to him what those matters happened to be. Instead of sending the boy back with instructions to come back with his story intact, though, Tedril had taken his chance to see Jorrvaskr first hand.
One of them supposedly had the information she needed, but as some of the other Companions had mentioned, she would be back in shortly. Tedril was told he was free to take a look at the objects of interest on the main floor and had spent the past several minutes doing so with respect. They certainly seemed to be Skyrim’s version of what some would call a throwback to the old warrior’s guilds. The weapons they had on display on every free space of the wall would have been as good of an indication as any that they met most of their challenges at the end of the blade. Lydia would get along with them very well, then. Quietly hmming to himself at the thought of his housecarl, Tedril continued on his short swing around the room, a scattering of…what seemed to be the remains of a battleaxe sat in a display on the wall. Tedril could appreciate the novelty of an old weapon, yes, but there was barely enough left of this weapon for the Dunmer to have any clue as to what it was outside of the shape of the frame that gave it away. It had lost even its worth as a display.
Again, though, it wasn’t his place to question it. Tedril stared at it a few extra seconds before he heard the door behind him open. Hmm, that was probably the Companion he needed who was entering. Not jumping to conclusions, he stepped over to the door slowly to greet the person only with his distant presence, hands clasped behind his back to wait and see if he would be ushered over to her by the pleasant elderly lady who had first shown him in.
