FULL NAME . Drifa Snow-Proud NICK NAMES . Drif, Snow AGE & BIRTHDAY . 24; 9th of Second Seed SPECIES . Nord OCCUPATION . Preparing to take over as Steward of Winterhold in the place of her grandfather...so...steward-in-training? STORMCLOAK, IMPERIAL OR NEUTRAL? Stormcloak GUILDS (IF APPLICABLE). None. WITCH, VAMPIRE OR WEREWOLF? N/A SEXUAL ORIENTATION . Heterosexual CANON (IF APPLICABLE) . Nope! | [atrb=border,0,true] Key Skills +Speech: Having been reared as a lady of Winterhold and, as she grew older, prepped to take over as steward of the city, Drifa's most important skill has become her ability to speak. Considering that she has no problems with speaking her mind, it is a very good thing that she can do so eloquently and convincingly. +Archery: Though she was never trained for outright combat, Drifa does know how to use a bow very well, as it was considered while she grew up as a highly important skill for a Nord lady. She has been hunting on a number of occasions with a bow but has never shot another sentient being (not on purpose, at least). +Alchemy: Yet another skill taught to her due to being brought up as a lady, and one that interested her greatly, was alchemy. She's a moderately skilled alchemist, though she detests the fact that the climate of Winterhold makes gathering ingredients rather difficult at times. Drifa rather loves to read about the plants in other parts of Skyrim if she can't go get them. ----------------------------------- Weapons, Armor, and Belongings +Glass Bow of Diminishing: Gifted to her by her grandfather on behalf of her father, this glass bow hasn't seen terribly much real action because she wants to take such good care of it. It usually remains in her room on a fancy rack, though she does bring it down for practice sometimes because she enjoys using it. She assumes it diminishes magic due to her father's dislike of the college and its mages. +Steel Dagger: A weapon that remains on her belt most hours of the day, and somewhere near her bed at night, for simple self-defense purposes. ----------------------------------- Personality Drifa's stubbornness and boldness are good places to start with her personality. A Nord from a rather proud family (duh, look at their names) and one of the last ones holding onto prosperity in Winterhold, Drifa has developed, through her influences and experiences, a personality that's naturally resistant to opinions that differ from hers or to those who tell her that she can't accomplish something. She is very quick to speak up and tear off into a rant to the contrary, showing a bit of a Nordic temper that can flare up at times though it doesn't control her. In a way, she's become something of a politician - not one of those lame ones that beats around the bush, but one who speaks her mind clearly and has no problems knocking others down with words as well as most Nords knock them down with warhammers. She is, though, a lady and grew up not as the big bad huntress lady or anything of the sort, but as an individual leading a much more quietly consistent life. It has given her some grace and the fortitude mentioned above, but change is not something she's had to deal with particularly much in her life, and her life without a father and instead with a rather bitter grandfather (even if he's kind to her) has possibly led to her being a tad uneven in more personal matters. Formal interactions or verbal duels, sure, she manages those quite well. More intimate encounters outside of her family are not her specialty, and that fact bothers her more than she would like to admit. Also, due to an experience in her youth, she can't quite tolerate being alone for more than a little while. Being more well-off than most in Winterhold has made her perhaps a bit haughty, but not at the expense of treating people - people who are not mages or overall bad people - well. She can be called good, though her views in favor of the Stormcloaks and her natural dislike for certain parties maybe blind her to right and wrong sometimes. That said, she doesn't exactly have the capacity to do horrible things to people - it's not in her blood nor in her set of abilities. Really, beyond a plethora of insults and a little bit of political pushing and shoving, she can only really hold grudges at the people she doesn't like. ----------------------------------- History With her father having died only a couple months before her birth due to a simple accident on Winterhold's icy slopes, Drifa was primarily raised by her mother and her grandfather, the steward of Winterhold. As the last truly noble and relatively wealthy clan in Winterhold after the Great Collapse, Drifa was raised as a lady, provided with an education, and instilled with some poor feelings towards the College of Winterhold due to that incident in 4E 122 that took the lives of the majority of her grandfather's family. As her grandfather's duties kept her mostly in Winterhold, Drifa spent a large portion of her time learning from her mother and traveling to the more impressive of Skyrim's cities such as Solitude and Whiterun. She grew to love the grandeur and number of people in those cities and further blamed the college for making Winterhold pale in comparison. Growing older, she became interested in following in her grandfather's footsteps as the Steward of Winterhold, an interest that her mother encouraged since she didn't want the position in the slightest. Her interest got her more involved in the goings-on around the city and, when she visited the larger and more prosperous cities, she would be brought into gatherings of influential families, alongside her mother, to gain experience. It was during one of their trips to Solitude that they were attacked by a group of vampires that captured and held the family for a time before being rescued by a Thane of Solitude. The experience of being caged by the vampires would stay with Drifa, though it appeared she handled the traumatic experience fairly well. She returned to Winterhold, only occasionally choosing to travel with her mother anymore. She excused it as an interest in remaining at home to study and prepare to learn from her grandfather. Due to staying in Winterhold more often, she turned her interests towards the College, her opinion of them growing more bold as she grew older and after she was tricked by a mage there and left bound to a wall on one occasion. She helped see the mage thrown out of the college, but her ire with them did not end. It was around this time that her grandfather started preparing her for the duties of the court Steward, and also around the same time that the war began. Having learned much about the Thalmor from her time in western Skyrim, Drifa strongly threw her support behind the Stormcloaks as her grandfather did, though her mother, attached to many of the families supporting the Imperials, went in the other direction. Most recently, as more of the duties of Steward have been handed over to her, she has been working to restore parts of Winterhold by rousing Stormcloak supports to drive away the leadership of the college. Unfortunately for her, support has thus far been light. |
