Hey so I was thinking I could use the PB I had in mind for my second character to make the Arch-Mage, since his role in the world/power is kind of similar to what I was thinking up in the first place. Also because I was being indecisive about what direction to take him as an original. Plus we need canons so I think everyone could be happy!
Problem is I have never done the College of Winterhold quests (except the first couple one of the first games I started - I've saved over like 5 times since and now don't even remember the first couple missions). I was hoping I could get someone to give me here or PM me spoilers for the College quests so I could better app Savos.
I have looked online and they seem intent on avoiding spoilers because I can't find anything I need other than that you kill him at the end. Which just makes me have even more questions.
The main ones I need answered are: How does he talk / relate to people? What are his true allegiances? What are his secret motives and how are they revealed? Who does he genuinely trust among staff in the college? Who else knows what he is really up to?
Or am I on the wrong track and he really is a good guy (I doubt this)?

I hope I'm not stepping on any toes by answering this, but I think I can help you out. I was previously considering playing Savos, but since you're taking him, you've put an end to my dilemma =) . I should begin by saying that Savos is, in fact, a good guy (as guys in Skyrim go, anyway). The player does not kill him. Rather, a different NPC kills him in pursuit of godly power. That's a bit beyond the scope of the questions you're asking, though, so I'll just take them one by one: [/b] From what I remember, Savos is somewhat dismissive of those who are not recognized as mages of great skill, often handing shooing them off to interact with the teachers at the College rather than himself. He doesn't have much patience for fools, but he is not cruel or overt about it. If anything, he seems almost lazy, but it is more likely accurate to say that he is just more concerned about his own research than he is about the personal problems of newcomers. 2) What are his true allegiances?Savos is loyal to the college. He's not super-adamant about defending it or asserting its authority or anything, but neither is he plotting to destroy or abandon it. He performs his duties as the Arch-Mage faithfully. 3) What are his secret motives and how are they revealed? He doesn't really have secret motives. In his past, he engaged in some less than wise activities, but you can find the details of those events here (under "Labrynthian expedition"). For more details, I suggest looking at a Let's Play on Youtube. It'll take some time for you to get the information you need, but it's there. 4) Who does he genuinely trust among staff in the college? There is an Altmer mage from the Aldmeri Dominion keeping tabs on operations at the College. His name is Ancano, and he is the only person whom Savos explicitly mistrusts (though he is of course careful not to make Ancano aware of this). If you want to know whom he trusts most, that would likely be Mirabelle, the Master Wizard/second-in-command at the College, but Savos seems fairly content to let the other mages do as they please. 5) Who else knows what he is really up to?He's not really up to anything. Mirabelle seems like she might know about what happened in Labrynthian, but she was not there. Like I said, though, he isn't plotting anything.[/ul] Once again, I apologize if I shouldn't have answered. Just saw a question I had information on and wanted to be helpful =) .
