Appearance:
Females in the land of Skyrim are respected as warriors and home runners, from time to time. Men still mostly dominate the world of politics and battlefields, leaving most women who seek advancement to relay on looks and intelligence. Cordula has both, standing at five foot ten inches tall, Cordula is tall for a woman and fair skinned as is with many Nords. Her flesh is white with little signs of being in the sun, while her eyes are the purest shade of blue next to that of the sky itself. While her days were often spent in court working with her husband, a former Thane, Cordula made sure to keep her body fit. At least, doing so by tending to the house and performing menial labor.
Her arms are thin and almost frail looking showing little in the way of muscle, while her fingers are long and elegant. Cordula prides herself on her appearance, knowing it is part of the reason she is where she is today. Her long legs are generally hidden behind her skirts, though many a Nord male has been curious as to what she hides behind there. She happens to be modest as well, being sure to restrain her breasts so that they appear as little more than light bulges, despite the near C-cup size that she retains after birthing two sons.
Keeping her dirty blonde hair long and letting it fall down her back, Cordula follows the traditions and ideals of beauty within her culture to the letter. Almost constantly, when she is not performing her duties, she can be found discussing tips and secrets of suggestion with other women and brothel whores. Her appearance is her weapon and she isn't afraid to use it.
Personality:
No one in their right mind would ever assume that Cordula was just a nice pair of breasts and an ass to look at. Since her husband and two sons passed due to Stormcloak actions, Cordula has been blindly and almost obsessively been seeking revenge against Ulfric Stormcloak and his men. Since the news of their death has hit her, she has devoted the last seven years of her life to rigorous study of military tactics and courtly manner. Cordula's mind has become sly and paranoid creating little plots and uprisings in order to hit the Stormcloaks where it hurts the most. Whats more, is she knows she isn't the only woman to have lost sons, daughters or husbands to the Stormcloak rebellion.
Possessing a mind for battle and subterfuge, Cordula understands that men are simple creatures of simple needs. Sex, food and drink are constant wants that possess their hearts and drive them to do things they wouldn't normally. Due to this, Cordula has been putting together a network of spies in the form of brothel whores, inn workers, cooks and other civilians who are not fit for the battlefield. Poisons, information gathering and humiliation of high ranking officers are her primary concerns; while many see the battle as a straight forward game of who can hit the hardest at the weakest points, she sees it as a game of hindering and demolishing from the inside. While she is an obvious supporter of the Imperials, few know who her workers are.
Secretive and hard to pin down, Cordula sits upon the throne of Falkreath with the intent of completely turning the city around. Knowing that she is most likely the least respected of the Jarls due to the Jarl before her and the station she commands; she constantly looks for ways to expand her city. Hard work and determination are both ideals that she constantly preserves and is not above getting her hands dirty with the rest of her city when it comes time for it. She does not just seek to see Ulfiric's head upon a pike, she also wishes to see Falkreath become a city that is spoken of in the same breath as Solitude and Windhelm. Expansion plans to the city reside in her room, along with numerous books and other design plans. Cordula seeks to create an 'organic' city, one where the farms are part of the various layouts.
Above all else though, Cordula has a temper and is known to become infuriated when she can not have her way. This is a product of being spoiled as a child; however, she tries to keep it as in control as she possibly can. She is learning to reroute this rage into her own plans and into constructive ideas, her speech is always sweetened and her words should always be weighed before acted upon. As many do not know what exactly she has asked until they agree to it.
Skills:
Speech: As a Jarl and a female one at that, Cordula understands the need to be able to manipulate and appease the ear. Having always been charismatic even as a child, she only improved under the yolk of her husband's position and now her own. At this point, she has become a master of word play and manipulation, knowing exactly how to twist people around her finger when need be. This is essentially how she attained her position, by exposing Siddgeir's incompetence and claiming rights to the throne as the widow of the Siddgeir's brother and last remaining member of the line aside from Dengeir.
Sneak: Much like her Uncle-in-law, Cordula is paranoid of those who may be trying to steal from her or glean knowledge off of her. As a child, she was known as the champion of hide and seek; as an adult, she is as close to a shadow as possible when she wants to be. While she can't fight in normal methods because of her lack of training; she is well-versed in the methods of stealing through the shadows and appearing where many think she could not. Angering or alerting Cordula's suspicions are a sure-fire way to always have an extra pair of eyes following everywhere you go.
Block: Cordula has never actually been in a real fight with magic, swords and arrows flying; instead, she often cared for her father and son's shields and weapons. Caring for them and ensuring they were pristine, during these times, she started to study the layouts of shields and learned how to better protect herself with one if necessary.
Armorer: While no blacksmith, Cordula knows how to improve upon weapons by sharping and cleaning them; she also knows how to properly maintain armor and what to request when creating a proper set for her warriors.
History: Cordula was born into a minor noble family within Falkreath as the only girl of five children and the youngest member of the family at that. Her father and mother of course spoiled her utterly rotten because of this, seeing to her protection and caving into all of their daughters demands. Having always been interested in books, she would constantly ask for rarer and rarer manuscripts, often using her mind rather than her body to outwit her brothers and the other children of the village.
Still, she was used to always getting her way and this is a persistent trait of hers even to this day. Having been brought up the way she was, Cordula saw few of the boys of the village worth her time at all; she grew up being courted frequently, to which she constantly slapped down the affections of numerous suitor. She saw herself as being independent and needing no one to tie her down; she delved deeper into her studies, debating on becoming a historian and possibly making her way into the Cult of the Ancestor Moth.
Her dreams revolved around the acquisition of the 'truth' as such, the Elder Scrolls themselves were a tantalizing treat that she could not deny. Years went by as she devoted herself to the study and research of the Ancestor Moths and practicing her craft; however, all of those dreams and desires changed when she met her future husband. A young man approached her one day and teased her about the books she was reading, at this point Cordula was fourteen and had all she could handle of the boys in the village chasing her. Just as she was about to tell the young man off; she saw that he was a new face and dressed in clothing fit only for the Jarl's family.
Cordula always being one to please the higher nobility only nodded a little bit and turned the book towards him. The boy, also happened to be an avid seeker of knowledge, though his knowledge was mostly of carnal nature and that of the battlefield. Still, he was a gentle man when it came to those who struck his fancy; which Cordula had done. Both seemed to tolerate each other for a while, Cordula doing so because of his position and he for her body. Overtime, their relationship turned from mere passive friendship into a student/teacher role. Cordula teaching the male about the Elder Scrolls and the lore of their people and he eating up every bit of it.
In the next two years they became study friends and eventually lovers; they were wed at the beginning of their third year with each other and Cordula bore twin sons two months afterwards. Her dreams of seeing the Elder Scrolls vanished with her new family, but she never regretted it; she had loved in ways few people could have acknowledged and felt at peace with her decisions. She raised her sons and took care of the various issues that her husband might find into, but over all she took her station as a mother and wife in stride. Happy in ways she hadn't been since she was a child; she never would have guessed that it would all be stripped away while her children were in their teens.
When her sons both turned sixteen, they enlisted in the imperial army, just as their father had. The pair eager to follow in their father's footsteps. Thinking little of it at the time, Cordula went back to her studies and tending to her empty home as the rest of her family trained and worked as soldiers. Two years later, Ulfric Stormcloaks rebellion began and her husband and sons had both been stationed to Solitude. Following the events of Ulfric's murder of the High King, her husband and sons went in pursuit of the Jarl of Windhelm.
At some point between the murder and the attempted execution at Helgen, her husband and sons lost their lives to the Stormcloak army. Their bodies were indistinguishable from anyone else's, making them impossible to return. Denied a proper burial service or even the right to see her family depart from this world, Cordula snapped and began a personal mission to see to it that the Stormcloaks were wiped from the face of Tamriel. While she saw no threat in Dengeir as he was a slovenly old-man who was little more than a figure head; she saw that his nephew was nothing more than a lout and a lecher. Angered by the weakness of Falkreath's Jarls, Cordula took it upon herself to usurp their positions.
It was at this point that Cordula began to use her more feminine charms to get her way in the city. Using seduction, she marched a clear path of destruction through the Jarl's chain of command, planting the seeds of insurrection. Public outrage at the Jarl's laziness grew to a fever pitch as demands for a new Jarl rang. The imperial forces knowing they could not put Dengeir on the throne and recognizing hereditary as being the driving force for the position turned to Cordula. As the only person left in the family line, she was placed upon the throne; she now runs Falkreath as an imperial city and attempts to guide her people towards a more prosperous way of life.
