i will never find a way to heal my soul | [atrb=border,0,true]the latest plunder of goods the blackhood marauders had claimed was plentiful to say the least. after raiding several caves and ruins within the past week, the crew had obtained so much treasure that a couple of the horses had trouble getting back. of course, the moment they had made it back, the crew members were ordered to bring the loot inside and then go out and tend to the horses. he felt as though they deserved a good nights rest and heaps of food, which they could now afford due to the amount of gold collected. it wasn't just the horses that were fed well, the crew members all celebrated, they drank and ate until they could do so no longer. one of these bandits was axel and he drank and ate more than most, if only because of his sheer size. it wasn't just because he was an orc, either, there were a few other orcs among the crew and none of them reached his size. they all feared him and respected him, which was why he was second in command to Jaaree-rah. Obviously Axel respected the man more than most, if only because the man brought him in and basically saved him from the boring life he would have led.
Slamming down the tankard, Axel stood up and smacked a man on his back, giving him some encouraging words before he let out a belch that echoed through the cave that was their hideout. the men cheered and laughed at this and axel couldn't help but bask in the glory. lifting up his tankard, he gave a speech, commemorating the men who he had traveled with and the few men that they had lost along the way. he called their return a great victory and that he was proud to be among such great men, even though the yall were dirty rats. the men laughed at his comment, knowing he was making a joke. the humor of it was that it was mostly true. all of the men were dirty little rats; snitches and liars.
after giving his speech and finishing off his tankard, he explained that he was going outside of the cave for some fresh air, which was true. throwing his tankard on the ground, he stumbled out, already pissed drunk from the festivities, and almost fell over a couple of times in the process. reaching the entrance of the cave, he dropped his breeches and relieved himself. letting out a heavy groan of relief, he finished, shook and pulled up his pants. he knew that he had just shown a great deal of vulnerability, but he didn't necessarily care. he was drunk and high off a great success, there was nothing that could spoil his mood.

never expect to be sure , ta daaaa~ finally got 'er up. wasn't sure if they knew each other yet, so i just ended it like this. hope it's alright c: [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 390px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;]no one would've been stupid enough to attack an orc the size of axel while he relived himself outside of what was most likely their bandit territory for the time being. at least, no one but a certain khajiit by the name of ashira, a name she wore proudly in memory of her mother. but this wasn't any typical night for the mercenary; it had started so, but it quickly spiralled out of control.
after being contacted by courier, ashira was summoned to discuss a job in person. the letter was discrete, something the cat was used to, but it'd only been initiated with a single 'S' at the very bottom of its page. no one she'd worked for had signed their mark like that, so it lead her to believe it was someone new. the sum of septims listed within the summons held her interest, regardless of the slightly shady identity of her possible employer, and turning it down seemed like a waste. so after taking the time to properly prepare herself, and to sell the items she didn't need, ashira climbed onto her horse's saddle, solitude in her sights.
she'd only made it a few hours into the journey when something caught her nose- something strange. by the time she'd slowed her horse, farren, down to a steady trot, the flaming arrow had already been released, whizzing by the horse's nose in a flash of heat. the large animal bucked up on its hind legs, and despite ashira's thighs gripping tighter against the sides of the horse's stomach, it wasn't enough to keep her stationary on the mare's back. after releasing a screech of fright, the horse clearly more than spooked, she took off into the first cover of bush and trees that surrounded them, stranding ashira with nothing but the weapons attached to her person, and an assault reigning down on her over a hill.
the khajiit instantly sprung into action, balling her fists as she pumped her arms at her sides, taking off into a sprint after her horse into the shrubbery. the bandits were on her quickly, however, leaving her scurrying to try and pick up her pace, but still be focused enough on where she was going that she didn't trip over anything, or give them a head start and injure herself. the bandits on her heels weren't prepared for close-combat, luckily, so the more she moved, the harder it was for the archers to get a good shot. arrows, both flaming and unlit, zipped past her as she attempted to retreat, barely able to hear the harsh pounds of the arrows getting stuck into either trees surrounding her, or dipping to stick into the earth from the force behind them. she'd almost made it without getting struck by an arrow, too, almost making it to the edge of the cliff with nothing but the scratches along her legs from the countless branches she'd just raced through. but the small sting they created was nothing compared to the fire hot pain that took her completely by surprise.
falling to her knees from the impact of the arrow plunging itself deep into the back of her right shoulder, ashira cried out in frustrated pain. the arrow had been lit, but as soon as it dug into her shoulder, piercing out the opposite side, the fire was put out, leaving nothing but the scorching hot steel arrow to pulsate within her skin. the archers were quick to surround her, and after a moment of of surveying what their main goal was, ashira came to the quick realization that they weren't after anything but her blood. swallowing thickly, she tried to pull herself to her feet, to at least try and die with some dignity if tonight was going to be her last, but a man emerged from the half circle blocking all her exits that didn't involve taking a trip into a body of water below a rather large drop. eyeing him, she narrowed her golden eyes, sending him a glare that physically made him shift uncomfortably.
"it's ashira, isn't it?" he asked, grinning triumphantly. "there's a bounty on your head, cat. and i'm about to claim it. sorry about leading you on, however. i'm sure if there actually was a job in solitude that would need your.. expertise, you'd be able to carry it out fluently. unfortunately for you, you are the job." the man grinned at her wickedly, before turning his attention to his archers, shifting his own right hand to rest on the hilt of his great sword. "execute her." as soon as the words left his lips, the archers had their bows raised and ready. as if they were all counting down within their head, their fingers released the arrows simultaneously. it was a matter of sheer luck that gave ashira the speed she needed to push off the ground and dive over the cliff's edge, ignoring the pain in her shoulder with all of her willpower.
after they'd given up on looking for her to emerge from the water, ashira surfaced and coughed for air. sputtering out a small mouthful of unwanted water, she struggled to swim to the edge of the small lake, only really capable of moving her left arm. somehow she made it to the land, and after pulling herself out of the cold liquid, she immediately inspected her shoulder. the arrow was still completely in tact, and she could see the familiar steel tip sticking out of her skin rather easily. however, when she lifted her left hand to try and break off the back of the arrow, she couldn't properly contort herself in order to do so- not cleanly, anyway, and ripping her wound larger than it already was didn't seem like a good idea.
so there she was, gaining her barrings and attempting to look for help, when she came across axel's lone figure, standing near the entrance of a cave. it looked shady, but ashira didn't know how much more blood she'd be able to lose before she passed out, and if that happened, then she wouldn't wake up. her body would be clawed and mauled to the point of her being unidentified with the wild beasts that roamed skyrim's outlands. so, seeing an opportunity that she wouldn't be able to pass up if she wanted any chance of survival, ashira slowly stalked out of the overgrowth, light on her feet, her caution clear on her face. when she close enough to smell the ale off him, she pulled her dagger from the inside of her boot, lifting it carefully within her left hand. it wasn't her dominant hand, unfortunately, but with her right shoulder wounded, even moving it just enough to move quietly hurt like a mother.
quickly, she straightened and dug the dagger's blade into the orc's neck, her lips finding his ear easily. "make one noise, and i'll have your blood spilling before you can finish calling for help." she warned, her voice more than hard pressed. it was hard to keep up the act, however, as she shifted the wrong way to try and turn him around, and a spurt of pain shot throughout her collarbone. the dagger faltered, and she let out a soft cry of pain. she was forced to stumble back, and after barely catching her stance, she attempted to remain straightened, clasping her dagger-hand over her shoulder, careful to keep her fingers from the arrow itself.
looking up to the orc, her eyes turned pleading, and she gestured quickly to the pouch of septims hanging from her clothe around her waist. "whatever you want, i'll give it all to you.. please, this arrow.. i need to get this arrow out." |

[/div] tagged: ashira/ six words: 539[/div] after the brawl had been resolved, axel had figured that he deserved a little fresh air, as well as the relief that his bladder so desired. he knew it would leave him vulnerable, but being drunk and losing all ability to care, he went ahead and did so anyways. besides, they were perfectly hidden from almost anything, except for the beasts that roamed the forest, and axel could easily take down a saber or a bear. he's done so with his bare fists before. it was when a man in front of him held a weapon that axel needed some enforcement from a weapon of his own. of course, he had won one or two battles with the lack of a weapon but it was pure luck and he had got a few more than few bruises along the way. not to mention a few broken bones that had gone untreated, leaving his left wrist to be come very stiff and hard to use in battle. luckily the man was right handed and only needed his strongest arm to win a duel.
letting out a sigh of relief, he ignored the sounds that were coming from the woods, figuring some of the scouts had found something and would easily take care of it. however, much to his misfortune, as he was just about to fix up his breeches, he felt a knife to his throat. stopping dead in his tracks, he lifted his chin up and kept his mouth shut, he could smell the stench of blood on his assailant, as well as feline. ugh. a filthy kahjiit was the one that now had him on a silver plate. despicable. he couldn't possibly die at the hands of a fucking feline. however, with his mind still completely overcome by the mead he had been drinking, he couldn't think of any way to escape this without getting his throat slit.
as luck would have it, he felt the dagger fail a bit and that was his chance, taking a step away, her turned around and looked at her, slightly crouched with his arms up, ready to pounce on her, if need be. seeing her with the arrow in her chest, he took a few steps towards her, grabbed her by the throat and pushed her up against the cave wall, "why should i help someone who just threatened to kill me? no amount of gold is worth that." he snarled before he grinned and took the pouch anyways, "however, that is a rather nice offer you have..." he added, keeping his hand on her throat, figuring it was fairly painful for her, what with the arrow just a few inches away from where he was holding her, "anything else you would like to put on the table?" he asked before he recognized just who the woman was and snarled, letting her go before taking a step back, "damn." he stated, simply before he turned his back to her and fixed his breeches, "you sneaky cat." he grownled before he turned back to her, quickly pushed her against the wall by his hand on her chest, reached up his other hand, wrapped his fingers around the arrow and pulled it free. notes: i'm hoping you read the pm i sent you! never expect to be sure , wooooo ;D [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 390px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;]orcs usually weren't smart to mess with on a regular basis, but threatening a bandit orc with a dagger, and then asking for help, wasn't a good idea in the least. so when she stumbled, and he regained control over his body and stance, ashira knew it was going to be trouble. she could only hope that he wasn't going to kill her- and at least, if he did, he'd make it quicker than most bandits would allow a khajiit to have. this thought crossed her mind the second he slammed her up against the cave's outter wall, and her ears bent back as she released a pained hiss. her hands shifted, gripping onto the orc's wrist to try and relieve some of the pressure from her throat, but as her eyes slowly pried themselves open to look him in the face, her struggle started to die down a bit. his voice was familiar, and as he ripped the pouch of septims from her waist anyway, his facial features started to become more clear within her mind.
when his own eyes mirrored her own realization, she gasped a small breath of relief when she came crashing back down to her feet, his hand no longer restricting most of her airway. gagging for a moment, she coughed and sputtered to regain her breathing, but that didn't do anything for her wounded shoulder, which was now stinging beyond thought from the pressure of the arrow being pushed through her arm more. she didn't have enough focus to notice that he had to fix his breeches, but by the time that he was finished and had turned back to face her, she had just made it back onto her face with better stability. she hadn't been expecting the second forceful shove up against the wall, but before she could retaliate, the arrow was already ripping from her shoulder. a loud cry of pain echoed from her mouth, and her eyes squeezed together as the wound started to pulse.
catching her breath, she forced her eyes open, lifting her left hand to cover her shoulder in hopes of slowing the bleeding. through clenched teeth, she straightened back up, forcing against the pain. "i'd thank you," she started in a low voice, slowly raising her eyes from the damage through her shoulder to his face. "but i'm not that grateful." slowly, she put some distance between them, though she used the cave's wall to help her remain on her feet. leaning down, she grabbed her dagger that'd fallen in the rustle between them, and she slipped it away, knowing that axel had a great advantage over her with her shoulder already being hurt, not to mention his size and strength.
she was about to make a snarky remark about him resorting to his usual habits when a feral cry of several nords came from the forest not too far from the cave's entrance. instantly, the snark was gone, and her eyes narrowed dangerously as her ears bent back. transferring her attention to axel, she gestured over her good should towards the opening to his recent hideout. "letting me come inside with you, now, will serve you less trouble than keeping me out- that's a promise." she was scared, she knew that by now, but she didn't let a touch of it hit her outter appearance. instead, she looked the orc square in the face, hoping he'd come to the same conclusion.
"it's not like i'm much of a threat to you inside, anyway, right?" she taunted, arching a brow in question. |

[/div] tagged: ashira/ six words: 605[/div] axel had never really been the type to do anyone any types of favours, unless it was for his own benefits. this, him helping out a filthy feline was out of the question - usually. when it came to this particular kahjiit, axel was in debt to her. he didn't ask for her favour beforehand but he was sure grateful for it, or else he would be dead and in the ground. if she had been a second or two later, he would have an arrow through his head. so, he knew he would have to return the favour, if he had ever seen her again. unfortunately for him, he had run into her and, much to his dismay, she was in need of his help. in any other case he would have snapped her neck and thrown her into the river, but seeing as she just happened to be the khajiit who had saved his life, he was in debt to save hers.
after pulling out the arrow, he threw it to the side and watched as she covered the now open wound with her hand, "and what makes you think i'd want your thanks, anyway?" he grunted before he folded his arms across his chest and looked at her, "what are you doing here?" he asked before he heard the sounds of the angry nords shouting and hollering. that meant trouble. not only trouble for himself and the kahjiit, but for all of the men inside. none of them were in the position to fight a horde of nords, especially an angry one. he trid to think of something to do, but no ideas came to mind; his only hope of saving his men was to pray to the divines that the nords would over look the cave.
just as he was about to head inside, he heard the kahjiit's voice and glared at her, knowing that she would give their position away to save her own life. however, there was no way of telling whether or not the nords would keep her alive for long, seeing as he could also assume they were the ones who had shot her with an arrow in the first place. when she made the point of her not being a threat, he growled in frustration, hating that she was making sense as well as threatening him. without a word, he grabbed her from under the knees and threw her over his shoulder before running into the cave. he didn't care if she was still able to run, the fact that she was wounded would slow her down and they needed to get into the depths of the caves as fast they could.
finally reaching the bowels of the cave, axel put the female kahjiit down and looked at her, glaring before he could hear the other men shouting and cat-calling. telling him that he had 'caught a good one' and basically telling ashira that she would be a wreck by the time everything was over. axel hated thinking that he was affiliated with such a thing and he grabbed ashira by the forearm before started to drag her to his part of the cave. it was a hollowed out socket that served well for privacy, seeing as it was around a corner. throwing her down onto his bedroll, he crouched in front of her, " the only reason i am doing this for you is because, if not for you, i would have had an arrow through my head, got it?" he inquired through gritted teeth, "otherwise, you would have been the one with your throat slit." notes: this is a huge pile of shit, i'm sorry. never expect to be sure , i can see this playing out in my head like it's actually happening, and it's friggin' hilarious. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 390px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;]to be completely honest, ashira had expected axel to leave her there to fend for herself. or, rather, die with no shred of dignity. but, that was the way a lot of people were out in the outlands of skyrim; if you didn't have what they wanted, or found any value in you, you were absolutely nothing but a stepping stone. and why should she have been any different to a man like axel? she was nothing but a mercenary, who'd carry out almost any thinkable job just to make sure that she was capable of surviving. with him being the leader of a bandit clan, there really wasn't any connection between the two, other than they killed for gold. but ashira could always be hired to slaughter bandits; she'd picked up bounties before, so bandits generally weren't too friendly with the khajiit.
when he hoisted her over his shoulder, she instantly started to struggle. naturally, struggling only made her shoulder hurt, so by the time he'd made it into the heart of the cave, surrounding his men, ashira had taken to propping her chin up on her palm, her elbow supporting on axel's large back muscles. the world was shifting again before she knew it, and her feet were once again placed upon the floor. gaining her balance, she slowly started to turn her attention to the other bandits, and her ears slowly started to bend back. she started to lose track of the comments because they were starting to all slur together. ashira was about to bare her fangs and give them a piece of her mind, but axel's tight grip on her arm had her distracted, and before she was even given warning, he was leading her further into the cave's darkness.
the bedroll was hard, and when she landed on it, a hiss escaped instantly as she shifted to sit up, on the defence. her eyes narrowed into a glare when he crouched down to her level, and it took a lot to resist kicking his balance off, just to make sure that she'd stay in control of the situation. but, after thinking it over, it probably would've just made everything ten times worse for herself. his words didn't ease her ears at all, but instead, she released a bit of an attitude-filled huff. "whatever. i'm here now, we're just going to have to deal with it." slowly, as she caught her breath, and the pain in her shoulder started to dull, she slowly glanced towards it, sighing at the blood that coated her fur from the open wound. "is there a stream, for starters?" she asked, not about to tear some of her armor's cloth to wrap around her shoulder unless there was a means to clean it a bit first. "and i hope you talk some sense into your humble family; i see any one of their faces poke around that corner, and i wont guarantee that i wont add an arrow to their complexion."
it was a little questionable how ashira felt remotely safe around axel, but not his men. it most likely had something to do with the fact that they'd had previous encounters, and he'd never shown signs of wanting something.. more from her than the gold in her pouch. swallowing, she clenched her shoulder a bit more at the thought- she couldn't even remember the last time she'd felt something like that towards another person. |

[/div] tagged: ashira/ six words: 509[/div] axel had never been the type to give out any favours, so if anyone had the chance to see what he was doing for the kahjiit, they would probably think they were too drunk or maybe finally completely lost it. either that or think such things about axel by himself. the truth was that he believed ashira's threat and he wasn't about to jeopardize his small, maniacal family. so, with much tug of war within himself, he allowed the kahjiit to live and, as he threw her over his shoulder, he could feel the anger boiling within him. curse her for ever returning, in any way, back into his life. if he never saw her again, he would have been perfectly content and would have lived a basically debt free life. now that she was back, unfortunately with the need of his help, axel couldn't say no to her, as much as he really wanted to. most people would ask why a bandit cared about his honor? it was basically because there was still a bit of the stronghold in him, as much as he didn't want to admit it.
as he carried her into the cave, the shouts and cheers from the men were expected but very unwelcomed. never did he ever think of having his way with a kahjiit in the way that they were insinuating. he had many tastes when it came to women, he would sleep with any race, except for kahjiits and argonians. something about the fact that they were part animal disturbed him and he didn't want to think of an animal when he was in the middle of pleasuring both himself and the woman underneath him. he knew that there were several men in the family that could care less about what race the woman was, as long as they were ready and willing. as odd as it was, axel had some standards and he knew that some of the men would make an attempt on the woman tonight - kahjiit or not.
when he mentioned keeping his men under control, he grunted under his breath, "they wouldn't dare enter my sleeping quarters without my permission." he explained before he stood up straight and grabbed her arm once more, "get up. i'll take you to a stream so you can wash up." he explained. he would have let her go alone, but like was said before, he couldn't trust him men when it came to making a move on her. he would have repaid his debt at dawn and he could let her go without him having to worry about her ever again.
pulling her towards one of the many streams that ran throughout the cave, he let her arm go and stood beside her, arms folded, "go on then." he demanded before he looked around, making sure none of his men were around, "you better be quick. i don't want to actually get into a fight with any of my men over someone like you." he snarled before turning back to look at her. notes: shorter but better. xD

NEVER EXPECT TO BE SURE who you're working for tagged axel, with 427 words, wearing this. it's short, but i hope i gave you enough to work withhh. [STYLE=background-color:#191919; width:325px; height: 350px; overflow: auto; font-family:Arial; color:#aaaaaa; text-align:justify; text-transform:lowercase; font-size:10px; opacity: .8; padding: 10 10 10 10px;]"for their sake, you'd better be right." ashira muttered under her breath, having no intentions of adding anymore mishaps to her list for the night. as soon as she could leave, she'd be gone, and hopefully, she'd never have to see axel's big ugly orc face again. okay, so maybe that was the pain starting to seep into her train of thought; although she wasn't in a good mood, ashira was still grateful that axel hadn't taken his chances and left her to her demise outside. now, whether she'd ever utter those words loud enough for him to hear..
at the second grab at her arm, ashira released a very feral hiss. "ashira can understand words- you don't have to constantly grab her like a cub." she growled lowly, and persistently. it was a little understandable past his men, but here, ashira saw no reason and just because he'd rightfully claimed this cave as his own for the time being, she didn't think that gave him the right to do whatever he pleased. nonetheless, she reluctantly pulled herself to her feet, keeping her weapons on her person, not daring to leave them unsupervised. quietly, she let the bandit leader escort, or rather physically lead, her to the stream that they had available in the cave.
at his urgency, ashira shot him a glare over her shoulder while she started disarming herself of her bow and quill. "i never asked for your defence, i'm capable of handling a situation like that on my own." Slipping out of her footwraps, she tossed them with her bow and swords. walking into the cool water up to her thighs, she started to cup water into her hands, lifting it up to her wound to wash away the stained blood, and properly inspect it. luckily, the arrow went cleanly threw, as far as she could tell. cupping more water to clean the back of her shoulder as best as she could, ashira moved on after she was satisfied when the water draining back into the stream wasn't as pink. tearing a chunk of fur from her armor, she carefully wrapped it around her shoulder, making sure it was aligned with both puncture holes, and tied it. having to tighten it with her mouth, she carefully started to maneuver her right arm around, making sure it was loose enough to keep some circulation flowing.
when she was done, she turned to face axel, slowly coming to rest ankle-deep within the water. "you should have one of your men keep watch. as soon as those nords leave, i'll do the same." leaning over, she grabbed her bow and quill first, slinging them both over her back. as for her swords, however, she carried them together in one hand, not expecting to need them until her departure.

[/div] tagged: ashira/ six words: 425[/div] when the khajiit threatened his men, he simply chuckled, "do you really think you are in the position to be making threats?" he inquired, showing her the obvious stats that she was wounded and quite out numbered. sure, some of his men were intoxicated and though it made them lack in some of thier usual skills, it also made them fearless and feel less pain. axel was confident that his men could take on one khajiit and take her down, permanently. with her wound as well as her being alone, it was simple enough. plus, the men got much more enraged when their home was invaded and threatened. there was no in hell that feline was getting out alive if she made the wrong move and axel had a feeling she knew it, "you're wounded and completely outnumbered." he made that obvious, wanting her to feel the full extent of shit she was actually in, if she decided to follow through with such a threat.
her hiss made his eyes narrow at her, he didn't like the attitude she was giving him and he almost had the right to break the arm he was holding onto, "maybe if ashira didn't make idle threats at my men, axel wouldn't have to keep a hold on her." he growled, leaning closer so his face was right close to hers, "now get up." he snraled before pulling her up and leading her to the stream that would help her get out of here faster. as she started to clean herself off, axel folded his arms across his chest and kept his eye on her, making sure that she was not thinking of escaping or causing trouble. being very protective of his men, he didn't want any trouble from her and he would be prepared to go against her, if needed.
"you didn't ask for it, you basically demanded it with yet another threat." he explained, remembering her basically telling him that she would tell the nords where himself and his crew were, "now i said hurry up. this isn't part of my room and i'd rather not have to fight my own men." he explained before he watched her bandage herself up and walk back towards him, "good. the sooner you leave, the better." he snapped before he turned around and headed back towards his room, "i hope you aren't expecting any hospitality. just stay in my room and keep quiet." he added as he stopped and turned to look at her, a look of pure threat on his face. notes: shorter but better. xD

NEVER EXPECT TO BE SURE who you're working for tagged axel, with 556 words, wearing this. baaaaaaaam c: [STYLE=background-color:#191919; width:325px; height: 350px; overflow: auto; font-family:Arial; color:#aaaaaa; text-align:justify; text-transform:lowercase; font-size:10px; opacity: .8; padding: 10 10 10 10px;]"i didn't ask for your protection from your men," ashira cut in, tossing a cold glare over her bloodied shoulder. "i'm perfectly fine handling myself against one of your moronic lunatics. if you decide to step between us, that's on your own accord, not mine." naturally, ashira was stubborn and very persistent in the fact that she was capable of holding her own against a handful of bandits. axel's men weren't like axel himself; if they were, then she'd actually have a problem on her hands. but unlike axel, a lot of them let their lust cover up their real strength, and their weaknesses are easily exposed with such thoughts dancing around their heads. "personally, i wouldn't step into harms way to save an idiot who comes at someone with a skilled weapon in reach.. but maybe that's just ashira." that last bit was more muttered under her breath, and to herself, but she hadn't attempted to hide her words from the orc's ears. it just wasn't that concerning of her, whether he heard it or not.
after she'd turned and approached him again, she rolled her eyes at the mere thought of his words. "trust me. the idea on what someone like you could possibly bring me in the likes of hospitality wont ever cross my mind."
of course, right after stating something like that, ashira's stomach tightened a bit, and released a small growl of defiance. narrowing her eyes at her body's betrayal, she sighed it off and didn't speak of it, knowing she'd be able to eat as soon as she got somewhere safe. they probably didn't have food she'd consider edible here, anyway. as they entered his part of the cave once more, ashira glanced around, looking for a spot to keep her swords. not finding a place she was comfortable with, she took to propping them against the cave wall beside her, where she leaned. crossing her arms under her chest, ignoring the weight of her bow and quill on her back, she slowly let her eyes close for a moment, attempting to hear anything outside. the noise echoing throughout the cave from the obvious celebration was too loud to get a clear idea as to what was going on outside, but their obnoxious laughter and voices made it known that the nords hadn't started to attack the cave. they more than likely thought that if she had dipped into the depths of the cave, the bandits present would've finished their job for them. luckily, ashira still had a few of her nine lives left. footsteps caught her ear, and after a small twitch of her right pierced ear, her eyes snapped open, and a man's voice called out to axel. after a moment, the dunmer poked his head around the corner, timid eyes first catching sight of ashira, and then quickly moving to axel. the look on his face was almost surprised, as though he'd actually expected something to be going on between the two. ashira shot him a glare, instantly, but he didn't look back towards her direction to see it. instead, he was focused on axel, muttering something about some rival marauder. naturally, glad that it wasn't gossip about her, ashira relaxed again and closed her eyes, doing a fairly good job at not caring.[/div] [/style] . [/div] tagged: ashira/ six words: 523[/div] the longer that ashira was in his presence, the more irritated he was getting with her. it was about that moment that he started to regret saving her life in return and not leaving her for the nords to find her and give her was she deserved. the rarity in axel's actions towards the khajiit was great and the orsimer didn't know how much longer his tolerance was going to hold out for. with every snarky come back, his anger rose and his frustration boiled; there was nothing that he could do. he was in debt to the mercenary, whether he liked it or not, "those 'moronic lunatics' are some of the most feared and notorious men in skyrim. i'd watch your tongue you wretched feline." he spat, his words cold and harsh. it was as if frost has physically spewed from his lips. there was no kindness between the two of them, just a mutual respect and axel could live with that.
"my men have no idea what or who you are, so don't flatter yourself.: he retorted, making it obvious that he wasn't impressed by her threats or intimidated in the slightest. as much as axel wanted to prove to the khajiit that he could take her out in one shot, he knew that the cat had an unfair advantage, and what was the point in victory if your opponent was injured to begin with? it took out the fun in it.
walking to the other side of his room, he was just about to take a seat and keep an eye on the feline for the rest of the night, when one of the newer members of the crew poked his head in. axel let out a grunt and looked at him, giving him a look as if to tell him that he was waiting for the boy to spit something out. of course, he was upset that someone had disobeyed his rule and come into his room. however, he could tell by the look on the dunmer's face that it was about something important.
walking over to the boy, he listened to his words, nodding every so often to show that he understood the words being spoken to him. the message was about the black hood marauder's rival enemies trying to take over some of axel's territory. they were easy enough to overtake, but when the dunmer then explained that jahree-ra had specifically asked for axel to take out their leader, the orc did nothing but sigh, "waste of my time." he muttered. it was the truth afterall. why would he waste his time going after someone so easy to kill? axel wanted a challenge, always did.
letting out another sigh, he looked behind him before catching sight of the khajiit. a plan started to form in his head as a smirk formed on his lips. turning back to the dunmer, axel gave him a message to send back to his boss - that he accepted.
once the dunmer was gone, axel walked up to the khajiit and leaned down, shaking her before she woke up, "wake up. i have a proposition for you." notes: shorter but better. xD

NEVER EXPECT TO BE SURE who you're working for tagged axel, with 486 words, wearing this. sorry it's shiiiiiit [STYLE=background-color:#191919; width:325px; height: 350px; overflow: auto; font-family:Arial; color:#aaaaaa; text-align:justify; text-transform:lowercase; font-size:10px; opacity: .8; padding: 10 10 10 10px;]there was nothing ashira could say to the man that would make him believe an ounce of her words. and she didn't mind. she wouldn't expect a bandit to understand what kind of a person she was, anyway. bandits and mercenaries, although had similar aspects, weren't alike very much. at least, with her personally. a lot of her negative feelings towards bandits was because of her past; ever since she's been rather aggressive towards those who align themselves with bandit clans and expect to do as they please because they wish so. and ashira would give her last breath at the same time that she'd drive her sword through someone's chest, bandit or otherwise. as expected, most of the men within that cave would reply the same, but anyone could talk. not a lot had the nerves to back up their speech, however.
she knew arguing with axel was pointless. she couldn't change his mind about anything unless she had something hanging over his head- something she didn't enjoy doing to people since she hated it being done to herself, but it was her only way of survival. chancing their "hospitality" was better than diving off a cliff into a body of water, and expecting to survive with an arrow lodged through your shoulder. so instead of replying to his confident remarks about his men, ashira bit her tongue, and instead let her mind wander. maybe this was all a nightmare, and she'd wake up in a run-down inn, with a night of ale pounding within her skull. blinking, she sighed, still seeing the same dark and cobwebbed walls of axel's current territory.
when she'd taken refuge and leaned against the wall, ashira's legs had slowly started to get tired. seeing no use for standing, as axel went to talk to his follower, ashira allowed herself to slowly slide down the uneven wall to rest on the floor. curling her legs together, keeping a slightly lady manner about the fact that she was dressed how she was, she kept her eyes closed and started to finally relax. the pain in her shoulder was starting to numb, and if it weren't for where she was, she might've been able to catch a small cat nap before she had to travel again. unfortunately, axel had other plans.
the shake instantly brought her out of her state, and she nearly flinched to throw a startled punch axel's way. her hesitation was clear, and she shot him a glare instead, letting her hand settle on the cold floor beside her. "i wasn't asleep," she muttered afterwards, catching her breath. "what is it? the nords are gone?" she questioned, hoping she hadn't held her breath for nothing with that question. but the feeling of relief that would wahs over her if it was true would've made her grin extremely large for being in her current location and predicament.

[/div] tagged: ashira/ six words: 484[/div] with everything that had happened within such a short amount of time, axel was almost certain that the divines were cursing him. he wouldn't doubt it, after all of the horrible things he had done to so many different people. then again, if they were truely punishing him, they could do a whole lot worse than this. as much as the khajiit frustrated and angered him, at least she wasn't making any more trouble than she already had. if she behaved herself, he could just wait until the nords left and then send her on her way, never to see her again. it was a thought, and axel couldn't wait for it to become a reality. even though she had saved hi life before, he didn't like owing a debt and now that he was in the middle of fulfilling that debt, he couldn't wait for it to just be over and done with. besides, he had been in the middle of having a good time with his follow bandits and now he was stuck in his room, keeping an eye on a khajiit he didn't even necessarily want to save in the first place.
he was slightly relieved but confused when the young dunmer had come in and told him the message. as much as he wanted to go out and get away from the khajiit who was sleeping in his quarters, he didn't want to waste his time going out and finding the son of a bitch. the idea struck him fast and hard. he knew of the khajiit 'talents' and figured he could use them to his benefit. he would kill two birds with one stone; get her out of his cave as well as have the rival bandit chief killed in the process. it was a brilliant plan that he knew wouldn't fail. if the bandit chief managed to kill the khajiit, he wouldn't necessarily care; at least then he would knew that he wouldn't need to owe her any more favours.
once the orsimer tried to rise the khajiit, he smirked to himself and stepped back as she did, "no, but i have something that you might be interested in." he explained and folded his arms over his chest, "we have a little bit of a problem with another bandit chief who apparently wants to take over our territory." he looked at her with a wary eye, "honestly, i really couldn't be bothered to take the time to track down the bastard and kill him; i have better things to worry about." he paused and took a step towards her, croutching down to her level, "so, i propose that i pay you," he lifted his hand and poked her nose, "to take out the chief for me." he porposed before he shrugged, "after the nords leave, of course." he added before pausing and looking at her, "so, what do you say?" notes: shorter but better. xD

NEVER EXPECT TO BE SURE who you're working for tagged axel, with 553 words, wearing this. trickytrickytrickyyyy~ [STYLE=background-color:#191919; width:325px; height: 350px; overflow: auto; font-family:Arial; color:#aaaaaa; text-align:justify; text-transform:lowercase; font-size:10px; opacity: .8; padding: 10 10 10 10px;]the hope instantly diminished from ashira's eyes when he declined that the nords were gone. breathing a very heavily, drawn-out sigh, she leaned back against the wall once more, mirroring him as she crossed her arms under her chest as looked up at him. "ashira's listening.." she drawled on, though it was obvious from her tone of voice that she doubted she'd find it all that interesting. she just wanted to leave- get to a familiar place, where she felt safe, and most of all, warm. caves, no matter how many bodies were occupying them, were never a warm place for ashira to rest in. not without a fire in immediate reach. at the mention of another bandit chief, ashira instantly knew where this was going, and she narrowed her eyes. but instead of interrupting him, and telling him to shove it somewhere, she listened.
when he crouched down to her level, her eyes narrowed a bit further, wearily watching him with suspicion. her arms didn't remove themselves from their crossed state, however, knowing he wouldn't threaten her or attack her if he was trying to make some sort of proposal. at the poke to her nose, ashira blinked and retreated her head after the pressure with surprise, unsure as to what exactly just happened. no one had ever touched her nose; not in a way that didn't involve leaving the three obvious khajiit scars among the bridge of her nose. afterwards, she tried to focus, but wore a very set in place frown.
axel's offer wasn't very sweetened, and ashira didn't know exactly why she'd even consider taking a job from a guy like him. her eyes returned to their narrowed state as he asked her what she thought, and for a moment, she looked over his shoulder, focusing on the back wall of the cave as she tried to think it all over. it wasn't like she hadn't recieved bounty letters from jarl's about killing bandit leaders before; most of them were just small time criminals, who'd persuaded a bunch of thugs to try and keep their "brave leader" out of harms way. simple, easy jobs, that only took more than a day because of the travel time. sighing for a second time in such a short span, ashira's golden eyes flickered back to axel, the slits in her eyes dimming. "you'll pay me." she slowly proclaimed after a moment's hesitation. it wasn't a question, of course, more so her disbelieving that he'd come through with the payment after it was completed.
"if you give me half of the payment now, before i kill your pathetic rival, then i'll do it." she was about to reach for her pouch of septims, only to remember that he'd taken that from her at the start of this unfortunate evening. "or, you can just give me back the coin you already stole, and i'll consider it fair." she left no room for negotiations on her septim pouch, considering it had been hers rightfully, and he seemed to want this bandit dealt with so he didn't have to lift a finger. so, instead, ashira moved onto the task he was requesting of her. "i'll need to know his name, and clan he belongs to. everything else i can get on my own."

OUTFIT HERE | [atrb=style, width: 265px;][atrb=valign,top]looking down at the khajiit in front of him, her thought about how easy it would be to pick her up and throw her against a wall; end of one of his problems instantly. however, he refused to do so, well, not until after she answered the job offer that he was about to speak of. for now he had a bigger problem on his hands, rather than just her being in his home. the bandit rival that he was speaking of had been a thorn in his side for the past year or so, causing himself and his crew to lose a fair bit of gold. if there was one thing anyone knew about bandits, it was to never get between him and his gold.
once the cat said that she was listening, he explained the job to her. he could see on her face that she was skeptical about taking the job and axel was prepared to lift his arm and throw her against the wall. but he waited until he had finished his explanation to see what her answer truly was. axel could never really know just what kahjiits were thinking - their facial expressions were much harder to read than a human's. however, when she repeated that he pay her, he nodded, "yes, i'll pay you." he repeated once more before she started to speak of him paying her half now and half later. this, axel could work with. smirking softly, he nodded, "fine, i'll give you half now and half once the job is done." pulling the pouch of gold she had given him, he took about half of it and handed it to her.
when she asked about more information on the job, axel tied the pouch to his belt before folding his arms over his chest, "they're camped out in a shipwreck near solitude, i believe the leader's name is arlan the stone. why they call him that, i'm really not sure. i've seen him around and he hardly looks hard as stone, to me." he explained and shrugged. sighing, he ran a hand through his hair, "they're called the bloodrunners and they've been a thorn in my side for far to long. he should be easy enough to kill, he seemed to always have his handy men doing his dirty work for him." he explained, "anything else you need to know?" |
